Background
The Federation of European Screen Printers Associations (FESPA) are a global network of associations that organise events and exhibitions for the screen and digital print industries. Founded in 1962, the organisation has grown exponentially and encompasses a wide range of initiatives aimed at uplifting the print industry through grassroots engagement and sustainability – most recently, The FESPA Foundation, a non-profit organisation that provides knowledge and education. The FESPA Foundation’s core mission of “Print for Good” is to combine waste-reduction efforts with meaningful impact, specifically targeting and empowering young people living in challenging circumstances, as well as repurposing materials from FESPA’s expos and events that would otherwise be wasted, for the benefit of underprivileged schools.
Purpose of the Role
Building on its international success, the Foundation is now expanding its reach in South Africa to expand its mission of creating a world where access to creativity, communication tools and learning resources empowers communities to build brighter futures. Reporting directly to the UK-based Group Marketing Manager, the incoming Marketing Manager will step into a dynamic, build, shape and scale role. This is far from a standard desk job. This position offers an entrepreneurial marketer the rare opportunity to manage high-profile international event marketing campaigns while directly spearheading grassroots charity planning, school outreach, and youth engagement strategies in South Africa.
Fit
Someone with experience and willingness to help grow the Foundation, contributing towards the marketing strategy for it and being actively involved in the ideas for how to grow and expand it and implementation of this. A great communicator, who is able to work well with colleagues across different countries, who don’t always speak English as a first language. A high degree of accountability, professional reliability, and a readiness for international travel are essential. The ideal candidate is a personable, positive team player who will get on with a small, tight-knit team and serve as a brand ambassador on-site at events or during site visits.
Essential experience and capabilities include:
• Minimum of 5 years successful track record in creating and running event marketing campaigns
• Educated to degree level or equivalent professional marketing qualification.
• Proven ability to define marketing strategies while simultaneously managing operational logistics, databases, and corporate social initiatives (CSI/CSR).
• Proven track record and well-rounded knowledge of marketing channels, inclusive of digital marketing, to achieve desired results.
• Comprehensive project management skills evidenced by running more than one campaign concurrently and using project management tools and techniques to track progress and co-ordinate activities from start to finish
• Ability to produce creative copy demonstrating clear understanding of audiences, and cultural adaptations to marketing activities
• Demonstrable ability to understand and interpret data, delivering strategic insights and utilising the information to adapt campaigns
• Practical proficiency working with platforms such as WordPress CMS, Salesforce CRM, email automation software (e.g., Force24 or equivalent), HTML, and Adobe Photoshop.
• Results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving measurable goals and metrics
• Demonstrable experience of flexibility within a changing working environment – evidence of adjusting to new ways of working and being prepared to adapt to changing demands and timescales.
• A valid driver's license and personal vehicle are required for regional site and school visits.
