WWF South Africa (WWF-SA) is part of the world’s largest and most respected independent conservation network, working across over 100 countries and supported by millions of people worldwide.

For over five decades, WWF-SA has inspired all South Africans to live in harmony with nature - protecting our environment, restoring biodiversity, and improving community wellbeing. Through science, collaboration, and innovation, WWF-SA works to ensure that both people and nature thrive for generations to come.

The Opportunity:

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in strengthening WWF-SA’s digital ecosystem.

As Digital Engagement Specialist, you’ll take ownership of WWF-SA’s website and digital engagement platforms - ensuring content is current, data-led and optimised for performance and donor/supporter centric experiences. About 60% of your focus will be on website structure, content and optimisation, while the remaining 40% will centre on building engagement strategies and supporter journeys that turn awareness into lasting participation.

You’ll collaborate across communications, fundraising and conservation teams to design and deliver impactful digital campaigns that reflect WWF’s mission and voice. From SEO and analytics to user experience and storytelling, this role goes beyond traditional digital marketing; it’s about shaping how South Africans experience and engage with conservation online.

The ideal candidate blends creativity, analytics and technical precision to ensure WWF-SA’s digital presence remains vibrant, data-informed and purpose-driven. You understand what motivates audiences to engage, donate and return - and you’re energised by measurable impact!

The ideal candidate will possess the following skillsets:

● At least 3 years’ experience in web management, digital marketing or online communications.

● Advanced CMS proficiency (hands-on daily management).

● Strong SEO/UX capability and analytics expertise (GA, GTM).

● Apply SEO, UX and analytics insights to refine content and boost performance.

● Basic HTML/CSS plus image/video editing skills (Canva or Photoshop).

● Collaborate with internal teams to craft engaging landing pages, newsletters and campaigns.

● Use HubSpot (or similar tools) to automate journeys, segment audiences and track engagement.

● Excellent written communication and project-management ability.

● A relevant tertiary qualification in communications, marketing, design or digital media.

● A valid driver’s licence and Cape Town base for hybrid work.

● Alignment with WWF values: Courage, Integrity, Respect, Collaboration and Inclusion.

Why WWF South Africa?

At WWF-SA, you’ll join a passionate, mission-driven organisation making a tangible impact in South Africa’s conservation and sustainability landscape. The organisation fosters innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning through its strong global network.

You’ll be part of a dynamic, supportive team where digital creativity and purpose meet; helping to build meaningful connections between people and the planet.
