The ideal candidate for the Director of New Business Development at Save the Children South Africa is a forward-thinking and innovative leader with strong business acumen. You will lead the team in achieving fundraising targets, including generating R25 million annually through individual giving and securing R30-40 million per year from corporate partnerships, institutions, trusts, and foundations.
With diversity and inclusion as your core strength, you will achieve these goals through managing complex, diverse workloads under tight deadlines, and building strong relationships with your team, as well as internal and external stakeholders. Reporting to the CEO, you will bring strategic insight and expertise in corporate sector fundraising, including the development and application of B-BBEE strategies, and demonstrate the ability to engage mass market, individual, and high-value donors.
The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following skillsets:
• A minimum of eight (8) years of fundraising, experience with a proven track record in the domestic and international resourcing sector of at least 4 years.
• Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Business Science, BCom Marketing and Communications, PR and Related fields or similar.
• Experience in the development and execution of fundraising and donor stewardship strategies including corporate sector fundraising (experience in the development and application of B-BBEE strategy), mass market individual and high-value donors.
• Ability to analyse and interpret raw data through the use of relevant software to support all fundraising decision-making (understanding of relevant software such as Linkserv, SalesForce, Award Management System, AI Software, Accounting Software and MS Office)
• Professional written and verbal fluency in English.
