One to One Africa is transforming lives.

One to One Africa Children’s Fund (One to One Africa) is a high-impact development NGO, headquartered in Cape Town and delivering services to vulnerable last-mile communities in the Eastern Cape. Their mission is to provide life-transforming healthcare and support to children, mothers and families, aiming to address crucial systemic issues, such as poverty, chronic illness, and most vital, the on-going HIV/AIDS crisis. They achieve this through the door-to-door efforts of their Mentor Mothers – incredible women recruited from the very communities they serve.

With the immense resources their grassroots models require, One to One Africa has decided to invest in a new, highly motivated and successful Business Development professional with the vision and skills to take their income from R14 million to R30 million over the next three years, and to drive their Fundraising and Communications activities, in the pursuit of securing long-term, sustainable income streams, all in service of their incredible work.

This is a unique opportunity to shape and lead a new Business Development team while contributing to income growth and direct impact on the lives  of South Africa’s most vulnerable last-mile communities,  and to build a case for the importance of funding for critical systemic issues. Reporting to the CEO, you will utilise your genuine passion for community development  to devise and implement One to One Africa’s fundraising and communications strategy, blending strategic vision with hands-on leadership.

The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following skillsets:

• Qualifications: Marketing, Communications, PR or business degree required, preferably post-graduate

• Senior fundraising professional with proven leadership skills and experience in a not-for-profit organisation of at least three years

• A strong track record of securing significant donations and grants from high-value funders

• Forward-thinking and dynamic team player with proven experience in leading, building and managing a high-performing team

• A passion for community development, with the ability to be hands-on and roll up their sleeves beyond their job description.

• Demonstrable experience setting and implementing strategies and plans at a departmental or organisational level

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• A strong affinity with our mission, values and approach (collaborate, consult, cooperate)

• Valid driver’s license and access to personal vehicle.

• Able to travel (quarterly national air travel)
