Title: CLOSED: Head of Fundraising

For over 60 years, Ikamva Labantu has been working tirelessly to improve the circumstances of South Africa’s township communities with their wide roster of holistic, community-led projects. Primarily focusing on crucial social support services such early childhood development, the well-being of older people, youth and after-school initiatives, they aim to sustainably develop impoverished and at-risk communities through the provision and mobilisation of resources, training, and support.


As the Head of Fundraising, you will be required to lead a dynamic team with purpose and passion through a proven track record of developing and implementing sustainable fundraising and marketing strategies - securing and managing substantial donor funding. 


To succeed in this critical role, you will drive sustainability and enhance visibility through the strategic integration of these functions:


• Develop and implement a fundraising and a donor communications strategy. 

• Create and maintain financial stability. 

• Donor servicing and networking. 

• People management and development. 

• Project management. 

• Manage and oversee the marketing function of the department. 


 The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following skillsets:


• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Marketing, Communications, Business administration, and indication/proof of continuous learning in the sector. 

• 5 years experience in a Fundraising role with marketing/sales/communications responsibilities in an organisation with an annual donor income budget exceeding R40 million. 

• Proven track record in fundraising.

• Experience in networking/facilitating partnerships and working with external stakeholders. 

• Proven experience in people management and strong interpersonal skills.

• Understanding of customer relationship management (CRM) systems, bulk E-mails. 

• Driver’s Licence and own vehicle. 

• Excellent verbal and written English ability, planning and organising skills with strong attention to detail. 

• Enthusiasm and willingness to work within township communities.
