It’s certainly a varied job. A typical day might see you writing proposals to international foundations, planning a local fundraising event, mailing an update to current donors and launching and awareness campaign through social media. You’ll work closely with the Chair and other Board members, and you’ll sit on the Executive Committee, reporting directly to the Director. You’ll coordinate and recruit volunteers, liaise with colleagues and manage suppliers.
We’re looking for someone with a fundraising background, or from a marketing and communications background, who can transfer their skills into raising funds. You’ll have a relevant qualification, or comparative skills gained in the workplace. You’ll understand how to organise events, manage relationships with donors, create publicity and communications and be able to represent Child Welfare Tshwane with donors and funders.
The role is based in the Child Welfare Tshwane head office in Pretoria and you’ll be there regularly, liaising with colleagues and organising activities. At times, you’ll be out visiting donors, or working from home on a large funding bid. No two days will be the same!
